What Is Instinct? A Founder’s Guide to the Personal-Agent Category

Understand the Instinct product at instinct.com and use a text-or-call worksheet to clarify targets, constraints and review boundaries.

Instinct is a personal assistant whose official website describes a text-and-call interface and delegated work using a phone and computer. The first question for a founder is whether a spoken or text request can be turned into an exact, reviewable assignment before an external action occurs.

Evidence checked October 22, 2026. This guide separates official product statements from an original planning exercise. We did not run the product or verify account-specific access.

Identify the right product and the evidence available

The product surface is instinct.com. Its short homepage describes personal assistance through text or calls and everyday delegated tasks. That page does not establish a detailed professional-team feature set, current plan prices, account availability or a Finta integration.

The linked privacy policy and terms identify the operator as Spear Street Technology, Inc. d/b/a Instinct. They are useful sources to review before supplying connected information or voice data. This article is not a legal assessment of those terms.

The separately checked instinct.ai address redirects to a domain-sale listing. It is not the product source used here. Start with the official .com links and confirm the operator and account route rather than assuming every similarly named result is the same assistant.

Speaking a request does not remove ambiguity

“Send the latest version to Alex” leaves several decisions unstated: which Alex, which version, which channel and whether the document can be shared. A voice interface may feel more conversational, but consequential work still needs explicit objects and boundaries.

For an early trial, separate preparing a task from carrying it out. Ask for a read-back or reviewable artifact that exposes the missing details. Check the actual product's controls rather than assuming a spoken phrase creates a universal approval policy.

If you are not ready to answer a field, preserve it as an open question. Do not fill it with a plausible answer just to make the instruction sound complete. A useful assistant interaction can end with clarification.

Fictional worked example: a travel request becomes a review packet

Fictional exercise, not an Instinct booking or output. Mika is preparing a business trip around a meeting with Alex Rowan at a fictional fund, Harbor Plain. Mika's note says “Tuesday afternoon,” while the invitation says Wednesday at 14:00 in the host's timezone. Mika has not approved a travel budget.

The first artifact should list the meeting source, the date conflict and the missing budget. It can organize questions and options without purchasing travel. The follow-up draft should ask for confirmation of the meeting time, rather than announce that a booking has been made.

Mika's completed planning receipt names the exact contact, identifies the conflicting dates and marks the work “preparation only.” An actual product evaluation would need to verify what Instinct can access and how a proposed booking is reviewed. No such behavior was observed in this exercise.

What the public page leaves open

Ask about current access, supported locations, costs and limits before committing a recurring business responsibility. If team sharing, a CRM update or a particular app connection matters, request current documentation or test it in an authorized account. “Not established by these sources” is the correct conclusion until then, rather than a claim that the feature does not exist.

Review how connected information and recordings are handled under the current policy. For a trial, use synthetic or deliberately limited material. Do not supply another person's confidential conversation merely because a call interface makes it easy to dictate.

Turn a conversational request into a precise brief

This manual briefing prompt organizes a reviewable artifact. It does not connect accounts, schedule work or authorize external actions.

Convert the request and synthetic packet I provide into an exact delegation brief. Read back the target, desired outcome, source dates, constraints, missing facts and proposed review object. Separate preparation from external action. If names, dates or versions conflict, ask before proceeding. Do not call, text, purchase, book, share documents, connect accounts or update records. Return a preparation receipt for my review.

When to compare a relationship-centered workflow

Instinct may be relevant when the interface preference is conversational personal assistance. If the task is understanding an investor conversation and preparing the next step from a working record, inspect Finta's meeting-preparation recipe and Aurora by Finta.

Use the Aurora versus Instinct comparison to keep the professional task constant. The voice-first guide separates interface choices from action permissions, while the landscape guide provides context.

Questions to ask before using it

Does a call interface prove business-workflow support?

No. Interface and workflow are separate questions. Verify the exact sources, action and review behavior required by your job.

Are Instinct and instinct.ai interchangeable?

No such relationship is established. The product source checked here is instinct.com, while the checked .ai address is a sale listing.

Can this guide confirm account-specific prices or access?

No. Those were not established by the retrieved public surface or an authenticated account. Recheck the official route before deciding.
