Review a Funding Decline Before Approaching Another Provider
Use the provider's actual response to distinguish what is known, what remains unclear, and what to prepare before the next conversation.

Turn a decline into a useful next-step review
Start with what the provider actually said. Preserve its decision and reasons, compare them with the materials you supplied, and prepare clarification questions or a revised source pack. Use Aurora to organize the review before approaching another provider.
A decline is not proof that every other provider will decline, and it is not evidence that a different application will succeed. The useful outcome is a better-supported next decision.
Separate reasons from interpretations
| Review item | What to record | What not to infer |
|---|---|---|
| Actual decision | Provider wording, date, product and route | “Rejected everywhere” from one provider response |
| Stated reason | Exact reason or a faithful short summary with source | An unstated credit or eligibility conclusion |
| Supplied evidence | Relevant submitted file and version | That the provider reviewed every item |
| Unresolved question | Specific clarification worth asking | A guaranteed remedy or right inferred by AI |
| Next preparation | Actual missing or corrected material | Changing facts to make the application sound stronger |
Build the review in Finta
- Preserve the response. Save the real email, notice or portal decision and the application reference. If no reason is supplied, record “reason not supplied” instead of inventing one.
- Keep the context accurate. Note provider, product, amount requested, official route and what was actually submitted. Do not reconstruct a favorable version from memory.
- Ask Aurora for a reason/evidence/question brief. Map stated reasons to supplied sources where possible. Separate facts, possible interpretations and questions.
- Review consequential issues with the right person. Use the provider's clarification process and relevant professional advice for credit, legal or financial matters. This recipe does not explain individualized appeal rights.
- Choose a preparation task. Examples include obtaining the correct financial period, clarifying a product requirement, or revising an evidence index without changing underlying facts.
- Review the next provider independently. Use its actual criteria and route. Do not automatically forward the declined application unchanged to a list of providers.
A prompt that keeps the response honest
Review this actual provider response and the approved materials we submitted. Return stated reason, supporting source, related supplied evidence, unresolved question and possible preparation task. Distinguish explicit facts from interpretations. Do not infer an undisclosed reason, promise approval elsewhere, invent appeal rights, alter business facts or send messages.
Use main Aurora chat for the review. Keep the provider response with the relationship and add human-owned tasks only after you choose the next action.
Illustrative result: correct a pack, not a business fact
A fictional provider response says the supplied document period did not match the request. The business's review finds that an older approved file was sent while the requested-period file remained in the internal library.
The next task is to confirm the proper correction route and prepare the requested file for authorized review. It is not to rewrite revenue or imply that correcting the pack guarantees a different decision. This synthetic example is a process error illustration, not an actual lender outcome.
Check the next-step receipt
The receipt names the provider decision and date, actual stated reasons, source evidence, unanswered questions and the next task selected by the owner. Record any later clarification separately rather than overwriting the original response.
If you decide to approach another provider, use the requirements-review workflow and the first-conversation recipe. A stronger preparation pack is not a promise of approval.
When the reason remains unclear
Ask through the provider's stated route if clarification is available. Preserve “unknown” when it is not. If the response names a specialized issue, refer the exact wording to the appropriate adviser. If the business situation changed, document the real change and its source rather than retroactively altering the original application.
Keep the next move factual, personal and deliberate. Finta gives the review and relationships a home; the business owner retains the decision about where to go next.
