Core Principles
- Lead with the headline: what changed since the last update?
- Make momentum concrete with numbers, dates, customer names, hires, product launches, or fundraising milestones when available
- Separate facts from interpretation
- Be transparent about risks without sounding unfocused or alarmist
- Include 1-3 specific asks that are easy to forward or act on
- Keep the default update skimmable: short sections, bullets, and bold labels where useful
