Research US venture capital and angel investors by matching your actual location, funding stage and sector evidence. A Texas enterprise startup, a Midwest healthcare company and a New York software team may need different investor routes.
This selected guide compares 23 venture and angel routes across several US regions. It separates direct venture capital, public or regional programs, and member-led angel networks; it is not a ranking or a complete register.
Choose the financing route and company evidence
- Describe the next milestone. Separate a product prototype, early customers and a growth round.
- Check geographic criteria. A Texas-founder requirement differs from a national fund with a Texas office.
- Match the sector. Healthcare, enterprise software, climate and generalist funds have distinct theses.
- Identify the investor route. A fund, angel network, accelerator and loan program do not make the same decision.
Compare 23 US investor routes
Use provider type, stage and geographic connection together. An office address is not a promise of eligibility. Where the current source does not establish a precise entry stage, the table leaves that question open.
Selected US venture investors and explicitly labeled angel networks, researched October 29, 2026. Local offices and investor networks have distinct criteria. On small screens, scroll the table sideways to see every column.

Regional investors and national strategies serve different jobs
LiveOak states a Texas founder or CEO focus. Invest Nebraska describes businesses building in Nebraska. Florida Funders has Florida roots but says it invests nationally. Bread and Butter has a Minnesota base and a stated global strategy.
Location alone does not settle fund eligibility. Record the firm's actual published criteria and the company's current founder, team and customer connection.
Angel groups are networks, not a count of committed checks
Ann Arbor Angels, Wisconsin Investment Partners, Houston Angel Network and Gopher Angels provide distinct angel routes. New World describes an angel network and related investment vehicles. Screening, individual member decisions and funding are separate events.
A venture manager with several funds is counted once. An accelerator or company-building service should not be mistaken for an available equity allocation.
Match sector and financing stage
FCA publishes a healthcare investment thesis and criteria; ATX describes applied AI; Cultivation separates life sciences, software, agriculture and other strategies. First Round and Primary describe seed company building, while other managers operate across multiple stages.
State which fund fits the next financing milestone. A portfolio's later growth round does not establish a new company's initial entry point.
Turn the national directory into a useful research queue
Start with a small number of relevant regional routes, then add national or sector-specialist managers whose current mandate matches the company's actual facts. Use the linked local guides for more city-level context.
For each candidate, capture an official source and date, the relevant fund or network, supported fit and a specific unanswered question. Do not use a longer directory as a mass-email list.
Investor profiles and official routes
These profiles are a research aid, not a performance ranking. Read the current strategy and portfolio before sharing a deck. A public contact route does not establish that a firm has available allocation for your round.

Methodology, research date and local guides
Research checked October 29, 2026 by the Finta Editorial Team with AI-assisted source review. We reconciled provider names from our existing city research and reviewed current official strategy, portfolio, location or founder-contact pages. Firms with multiple offices count once; angel networks count as networks, not one committed pooled fund. We distinguish local presence from investment mandate and company eligibility. We do not infer check sizes, investor returns, lead behavior or open allocation from a portfolio logo.
We reused provider-level research from existing US city directories and reviewed current official strategy or founder-route sources. The national guide compares investment stage, regional requirements and route types rather than concatenating city pages. A manager appearing in several cities is counted once; an angel network is not counted as each of its members.
This is a non-exhaustive selection, not a performance ranking. Check the current fund, application process and company requirements directly.
