Start an investor search in Uganda by identifying the financing job: an early technology round, growth capital for an established business, or a loan that supports operating cash flow. Those are different conversations with different providers.
This guide compares 17 Uganda-connected or regional research routes, including venture and impact investors, growth-finance providers and one angel network. A past investment or regional mandate is useful evidence, not a promise that a particular company or funding round is eligible.
Choose the right capital route
- Describe the milestone. Decide whether the next step is product validation, customer growth or financing an established operation.
- Separate the instrument. Equity, revenue-linked finance and loans have different repayment and ownership implications.
- Check Uganda evidence. Distinguish a Uganda-specific strategy, a named Ugandan portfolio company and an East African mandate.
- Verify the current vehicle. A historical investment or portfolio-management phase does not establish that a fund is accepting new proposals.
Compare 17 investor routes in Uganda
Use provider type, stage and geographic connection together. An office address is not a promise of eligibility. Where the current source does not establish a precise entry stage, the table leaves that question open.
Selected Uganda-connected and regional capital routes researched October 30, 2026. An angel network and financing providers are labeled separately from venture funds. On small screens, scroll the table sideways to see every column.

Separate Uganda-specific routes from regional investors
Inua is Uganda-focused, while The 97Fund describes an East African scope from a Uganda-domiciled vehicle. Enza and Kernel publish wider regional strategies; Seedstars and Renew identify Ugandan portfolio examples. Those are useful but different kinds of evidence.
For each candidate, record the relevant fund, its published country scope and the date checked. A portfolio company operating in Uganda does not prove that a manager has a local office or that every Uganda-based founder qualifies.
Distinguish venture equity from business finance
Venture investors typically assess the potential of a scalable business and a specific investment vehicle. iungo and Hiinga describe debt-oriented routes, while the ACT Fund's published Uganda example is trade finance for an agribusiness. These can serve a different financing job from a pre-seed equity round.
Before sharing a proposal, compare the business's current revenue, cash-flow needs and ability to service any repayment. Check all terms directly with the provider and qualified advisers.
Match the sector and stage to evidence
A fintech team may compare Enza's published technology sectors with Seedstars' Uganda-linked portfolio. An established agribusiness may examine Inua, Pearl and the ACT Fund while checking which current vehicle and instrument each offers.
Make the shortlist defensible: record the customer, traction, use of capital and the specific question that remains unanswered for each candidate. Do not assume that a historical fund is still making first investments.

Methodology, research date and local guides
Research checked October 30, 2026 by the Finta Editorial Team with AI-assisted source review. We reviewed publicly available sources, including official strategy, portfolio, location, fund-backer or founder-contact information. Firms with multiple offices count once; angel networks count as networks, not one committed pooled fund. We distinguish local presence from investment mandate and company eligibility. We do not infer check sizes, investor returns, lead behavior or open allocation from a portfolio logo.
We reviewed provider and fund-investor material for Uganda country scope, portfolio examples, stage and capital type. Some sources describe historical portfolios or specific funds, not current new-investment capacity. We count each manager once and identify the Redsalt network separately from pooled funds.
This directory is general information, not personalized financial, legal or tax advice. Review current terms and seek advice from your attorney or accountant where relevant.
This is a selected research directory, not an exhaustive register or sponsored ranking. Confirm the current vehicle, team and process directly before relying on a fit decision.
