Orlando founders can compare local venture funds, specialist investors in nearby Winter Park, an Orlando angel group and Florida-wide angel capital. This guide covers seven investment routes with different stage and support models, including one investing accelerator. A company with a customer-validated MVP needs a different conversation from a technically validated product approaching commercial launch. Use the source links, stage distinctions and worksheet to prepare the right introduction instead of treating every Florida investor as an Orlando firm.
Compare the funding routes
| Organization | Type and stage | Local connection | Useful first question |
|---|---|---|---|
| DeepWork Capital | VC; seed and Series A | Orlando office | What evidence supports a globally scalable company? |
| venVelo | VC; pre/early revenue | Orlando and Central Florida | Where could experienced operator mentoring help? |
| GOVO Venture Partners | VC; earliest company-building stages | Winter Park office | Do government markets or regulatory expertise matter to our advantage? |
| Kirenaga Partners | VC; validated product before commercialization | Winter Park office | What has been technically validated and what comes next? |
| Seedfunders Orlando | Angel group; MVP/pre-early revenue | Orlando group; Florida preferred | What customer evidence validates the product? |
| New World Angels | Regional angel group; early commercial traction | Florida-focused, not Orlando-headquartered | What defensible advantage and Florida connection can we show? |
| StarterStudio | Accelerator with potential pre-seed investment | Downtown Orlando | Does this program fit our readiness and next cycle? |
Research approach: Reviewed current official fund, network and program materials on October 14, 2026. This is a selected shortlist, not a ranking. Orlando offices, nearby Winter Park locations and statewide mandates are labeled separately. Program admission, investment eligibility and a funded transaction are different stages. venVelo's direct site fetch was restricted, so its current organization-owned indexed pages were also checked for the published strategy and founder requirements.
DeepWork Capital
DeepWork Capital is an Orlando-based venture firm targeting seed and Series A companies. Its current thesis covers technology and life sciences, with interests ranging from space technology to B2B SaaS. It emphasizes globally scalable companies built in markets historically underserved by venture capital, including Florida and surrounding regions. Prepare a brief describing the customer, product evidence and potential to grow beyond the local market. The official site publishes a founder-contact email and Orlando office. A first institutional round can be relevant, but local presence alone is not the investment thesis.
venVelo
venVelo focuses on pre- or early-revenue companies that can benefit from experienced operator mentoring. Its published approach is rooted in Orlando and Central Florida, with an emphasis on company needs and founder coachability. Before approaching the fund, name the commercial problem you are solving and where mentorship would make a practical difference. The application checklist calls for company, team, market and financial information. Organize that material into a clear packet and distinguish existing evidence from forecasts. An invitation to present is an opportunity for evaluation, not a promise of investment.
GOVO Venture Partners
GOVO Venture Partners has a Winter Park office and partners with founders at the earliest company-building stages. Its current founder contact page highlights businesses where government markets, public-sector relationships or regulatory expertise can create a meaningful advantage. That is more specific than a general software category. Explain the buyer, the market constraint and why the company's approach is differentiated. Use the official contact form to introduce the opportunity and ask about the applicable investment stage. Winter Park is part of the Orlando metro; it should not be rewritten as a downtown Orlando office.
Kirenaga Partners
Kirenaga invests in early-stage companies with validated products approaching initial commercialization. Its investment approach describes a hands-on partnership, willingness to be a first professional investor and a Central Florida office in Winter Park. A suitable founder brief separates what the technology has demonstrated from what remains to be proven in the market. Include the customer problem, defensibility and the next operating milestone. The official page publishes a contact email. Do not turn technical validation into a claim of proven demand or repeat the firm's return aspirations as promises to founders or readers.
Seedfunders Orlando
Seedfunders has a dedicated Orlando group within its wider Florida angel-investing organization. Its clean funding page targets pre- or early-revenue scalable technology with a customer-validated MVP and a recurring-revenue business model. The organization prefers Florida companies, while its network headquarters are in St. Petersburg. Prepare customer evidence, the problem the product solves and the commercial logic behind the model. Use the funding page's linked Dealum application. This is earlier-stage capital research, not a reason to assert revenue the company has not earned or count each regional group as another unrelated fund.
New World Angels
New World Angels provides a Florida-focused angel route without being described here as an Orlando-headquartered firm. Its current entrepreneur criteria emphasize early commercial traction, a defensible advantage, capable teams and a strong Florida connection. Prepare evidence of the product and market rather than an idea-only pitch. The page links a Dealum application and describes a member-evaluation process. It also has an Innovation Fund with a separate earlier-stage process; research that path if relevant, but do not count it as another independent organization. Confirm the applicable criteria with the group before applying.
StarterStudio Pre-Seed Accelerator
StarterStudio's Pre-Seed Accelerator combines company preparation, diligence work and pitching with potential eligibility for a pre-seed investment. The organization is based in downtown Orlando and supports the Central Florida technology ecosystem. Its current page lists an upcoming program beginning in January 2027. Review that page for the latest schedule and requirements instead of assuming an immediately available cohort. Prepare the company risk, customer and scale questions that the program could help resolve. The possible investment is selective: program participation, investor introductions and actual funding are not interchangeable results.
Founder support and routes that need another check
The UCF Business Incubation Program offers mentorship, business development, workspace and connections to capital across Central Florida. It is useful founder infrastructure, not another unrestricted seed fund. Its Research Park location specifically serves emerging high-tech companies in Orlando.
UCF's 2026 Andromeda Ventures partnership creates a documented path to technical expertise and relevant venture opportunities for incubator companies. Andromeda is Washington, DC-based. A local partnership does not make it an Orlando office or establish that every UCF company receives investment, so it is not included in the seven-route count.
NewGate's older angel page identifies the former Winter Park Angels name, but its entrepreneur link now leads to a current sell-side M&A page. Confirm an active startup-investment process before treating it as an angel application. It is held out of the comparison rather than counted from an old directory.
Describe the support you need as clearly as the capital
Use this worksheet to turn the comparison into a focused research plan. Keep the source beside each answer so your team can revisit it when a strategy or application cycle changes.
| Check | Evidence to collect | What to do with it |
|---|---|---|
| DeepWork stage | Seed or Series A company progress | Explain scalability and the product's customer |
| venVelo readiness | Pre- or early-revenue progress | Name the operating support that would help |
| Specialist fit | Government-market relevance or technical validation | Compare GOVO and Kirenaga's distinct approaches |
| Angel readiness | Customer validation versus earned commercial traction | Choose the appropriate Seedfunders or New World route |
| Program timing | Current cohort, founder requirements and possible investment | Research StarterStudio without promising funding |
| Local connection | Actual office, Orlando group or Florida mandate | Keep the geography accurate |
Worked example (fictional): An Orlando founder has a validated MVP and early customer feedback, but little revenue. The Seedfunders row records that evidence and its limits. The venVelo row names the operator help needed. A second company with a tested hardware product approaching launch researches Kirenaga's stage. Both keep DeepWork and statewide angel criteria distinct, producing specific introductions instead of one “Florida VC” email.
Keep the shortlist moving in Finta
Use Finta CRM to keep investor relationships, source links and next steps together. Give Aurora your company brief and the sources you have collected, then ask for a fit summary, open questions and a draft introduction to review. Keep uncertain facts as questions and choose what to send yourself.
