The right Dutch investor depends on what the company needs to prove next. A software startup validating its first customers, a clinical-science company and a photonics team preparing industrial production should not start with the same shortlist.
This guide compares 16 venture firms, regional investment platforms and scientific company-building routes relevant to the Netherlands. It builds on our Amsterdam research with current national and cross-border comparisons, including Eindhoven, Leiden and regional capital conditions. A manager counts once even when it operates several funds.
Choose the Dutch investment route that fits the next milestone
- First software or marketplace round: compare DFF, henQ, Newion and Peak against the actual customer workflow, product evidence and business model.
- Technical validation to industrial scale: compare Innovation Industries and Deeptech Capital Partners using the IP, engineering risk and commercialization plan.
- Life sciences and health innovation: Forbion, Thuja and NLC serve different development and company-building jobs.
- Energy or environmental technology: SET and SHIFT ask different system and impact questions; a climate label alone is not fit evidence.
- Region-linked capital: InnovationQuarter and Oost NL have geographic and vehicle conditions. An Amsterdam investor search should not hide those distinctions.
- Established scaling case: Endeit's late-Series-A/Series-B proposition differs from idea-stage venture capital.
Compare 16 investor routes in Netherlands
Use provider type, stage and geographic connection together. An office address is not a promise of eligibility. Where the current source does not establish a precise entry stage, the table leaves that question open.
Selected venture managers, regional investment platforms and a scientific venture builder relevant to the Netherlands, researched October 29, 2026. Not a performance ranking. On small screens, scroll the table sideways to see every column.

Compare software economics with industrial engineering milestones
Peak focuses on SaaS, marketplaces and platforms and explains when incidental hardware may fit. DFF looks for underdigitized industry workflows and early commercial validation. These are useful software and business-model questions, not a universal template for a semiconductor or manufacturing startup.
Innovation Industries and Deeptech Capital Partners instead make defensible technology and a path to industrial scale central. A technical founder should separate laboratory performance, pilot performance, manufacturability and customer demand. A successful experiment does not establish that the system can be produced reliably or sold economically.
Put the operating region on the shortlist, not in a footnote
Oost NL explicitly names Gelderland and Overijssel in its current company-location criteria. InnovationQuarter's platform links different funding jobs to Zuid-Holland and more specific regional programs. The important field is the company's real operating connection, not whether the investor is geographically close to the founder's next meeting.
Within InnovationQuarter, a proof-of-concept project and a validated technology preparing production lead to different conversations. Review UNIIQ and the current Capital route separately. Keep the manager once in the directory while recording each relevant vehicle and requirement in the working shortlist.
Choose a clinical investor or venture builder deliberately
Forbion's current platform distinguishes company formation, early clinical ventures, later clinical growth and a separate BioEconomy strategy. Thuja describes early-stage European life-sciences investment. NLC combines invention assessment, venture building and early investment.
These are not interchangeable versions of a general health-tech fund. Record the clinical or technical evidence, development milestone and kind of partnership the founders need. A company-creation relationship may involve a different operating structure from a conventional financing round; discuss the arrangements with qualified advisers rather than assume the same terms.
Verify the current mandate and name before reusing a lead
Endeit describes European scaleups and offices in Amsterdam, Hamburg and Stockholm. Peak names DACH and Benelux as its main focus while explaining its broader European-company approach. An office list is useful context but does not replace the fund's company criteria.
Names also move. DFF identifies its Dutch Founders Fund history. The old DeepTechXL funding URL now resolves to Deeptech Capital Partners, whose current site presents a European seed-to-Series-A+ strategy. Keep the historical alias in research, use the current route, and do not add a second count merely because a brand or URL changed.
Investor profiles and official routes
These profiles are a research aid, not a performance ranking. Read the current strategy and portfolio before sharing a deck. A public contact route does not establish that a firm has available allocation for your round.
CapitalT
Early-stage venture firm. Published European investment remit. Its current strategy is more specific than a generic technology label: it names applied AI, deep tech and physical AI. Show what the product does, the technical advantage and the evidence a first round would establish. Use the published pitch-deck route; confirm the relevant vehicle and operating-location fit directly.
CapitalT: official investment information · Official founder pitch instructions · Additional official strategy or location evidence
DFF Ventures
Founder-led early-stage venture firm. Amsterdam office; Europe, UK and MENA approach. The former Dutch Founders Fund now uses DFF Ventures. Its current criteria favor founder industry experience and early commercial validation in underdigitized industries. Explain the workflow, customer and defensibility mechanism; an EMEA-wide portfolio is not proof of identical eligibility for every location.
DFF Ventures: official investment information · Official founder contact route · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Endeit Capital
European growth-stage venture investor. Amsterdam, Hamburg and Stockholm offices; European scaleups. This is a scaling route, not a substitute for first-product funding. Prepare the operating case for international expansion and show why the company can execute the next stage. Its entrepreneurial network is support context, not a promise of sales, introductions or a completed acquisition.
Endeit Capital: official investment information
henQ
Early-stage B2B venture fund. European founder mandate; confirm the specific vehicle's scope. Its current approach emphasizes B2B companies and the documents and metrics founders actually use to run the business. Bring evidence of how the customer workflow works and what has been learned. Do not turn the firm's selective model or advertised speed into a promised financing outcome.
henQ: official investment information
Newion
European digital-technology venture firm. Amsterdam office; European digital-tech focus. The current About page frames the decision around the problem, product and credible path to selling it. Explain how the customer buys, what has been validated and what the next year must resolve. Use the current broad digital-tech proposition rather than assume a narrower sector restriction from an older list.
Newion: official investment information
Peak
Early-stage venture firm. Amsterdam, Berlin and Munich offices; DACH and Benelux emphasis. Its focus page is unusually explicit about company models and hardware. A software-led platform with an incidental hardware component is a different fit from a hardware business whose device creates the core value. Show customer validation and revenue quality, then use the founder funding route rather than the general inbox for unrelated enquiries.
Peak: official investment information · Official funding form linked from Peak
SET Ventures
Energy-technology venture investor. Amsterdam and Hamburg offices; European energy focus. A useful research route when the product changes how energy is produced, optimized, traded or used. Explain the operating constraint and the product's role in the energy system; a general sustainability claim is not enough. Use the published pitch route and distinguish the digital business model from a standalone infrastructure project.
SET Ventures: official investment information · Official pitch-deck route
Slingshot Ventures
Consumer-focused venture investor. Amsterdam office; confirm company and market scope. Its current proposition centers on brands with happy customers and healthy margins. Bring evidence of customer behavior and the economics of serving them, not only a large consumer market. The founder contact route differs from the investor portal used by the fund's own backers.
Slingshot Ventures: official investment information · Official team contact route · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Innovation Industries
European deep-tech venture investor. Amsterdam, Eindhoven and Munich offices; European focus. Its selection criteria link defensible technology, large markets and a path to substantial company building. Prepare the technical risk, development plan and industrial scale requirements together. Techstart and other fund strategies should not be counted as additional independent managers or assumed to share identical criteria.
Innovation Industries: official investment information · Official investment-team contact · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Forbion
Biotechnology investment platform. Naarden office; international specialist strategies. Forbion Ventures addresses pre-clinical and early clinical companies, while Growth focuses on clinical-stage development. Its BioEconomy strategy has a different job around biotechnology for food, agriculture, materials and environmental technologies. Match the science and development milestone to the actual team; do not count every strategy as another firm.
Forbion: official investment information · Official investment-team contact · Additional official strategy or location evidence
SHIFT Invest
Environmental-impact venture investor. Amsterdam platform; Northwestern European criteria. Its investment checklist asks for measurable impact potential and a fit with one of four environmental themes. Explain both the business model and how the product changes the environmental outcome. An impact assertion without a credible mechanism and evidence is not the same as a qualifying technical proposition.
SHIFT Invest: official investment information · Additional official strategy or location evidence
InnovationQuarter
Regional investment platform. Zuid-Holland and specific local-impact routes. Use UNIIQ for the proof-of-concept conversation and check the current Capital route for validated technology moving toward production and international growth. The platform also includes specialized regional vehicles. A Rotterdam-linked energy route, an early experiment and industrial scaleup are different jobs, not three interchangeable seed funds.
InnovationQuarter: official investment information · Contact · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Oost NL
Regional development and investment agency. Companies based or to be based in Gelderland or Overijssel under its published criteria. Its current criteria make the regional connection explicit and describe direct equity, sometimes combined with lending. Record the actual operating-location facts and relevant innovative product before discussing fit. Most financing requires outside co-investment; the existence of a regional program is not an automatic funding entitlement.
Oost NL: official investment information
Thuja Capital
Early-stage life-sciences venture firm. Leiden office; European life-sciences focus. Its current approach combines early scientific investment with company-building experience. Prepare the clinical problem, product concept and next evidence milestone. A company selling general business software to a hospital should establish a genuine life-sciences fit rather than infer it from the customer category alone.
Thuja Capital: official investment information · Contact
Deeptech Capital Partners
Deep-tech venture investor; current destination of DeepTechXL's website. Eindhoven office; current European investment remit. The old DeepTechXL funding URL now presents Deeptech Capital Partners and a seed-to-Series-A+ European strategy. Use the current criteria: validated technology, defensible IP, early market proof and a realistic path to industrial scale. Do not reuse an older Netherlands-only or pre-seed description without resolving the change.
Deeptech Capital Partners: official investment information · Current founder pitch instructions · Additional official strategy or location evidence
NLC Health Ventures
Scientific venture builder and early-stage investor. Amsterdam office; platform and venture-specific geographic scope. NLC's inventor route is a company-building proposition, not simply an open cheque from every fund it manages. Explain the invention, evidence and development gap, then assess the builder relationship. Its captive investment funds and investor subscriptions are not independent generalist startup application routes.

A worked shortlist for a Delft photonics company
Illustrative exercise, not a funding recommendation. A Delft team has validated a photonic component in the lab and is raising money for a customer pilot and manufacturing work. It has two non-binding customer discussions, no recurring software revenue and no clinical-health product.
Separate plausible research routes from clear mismatches
| Route | Initial decision | Next evidence question |
|---|---|---|
| Innovation Industries | Research the deep-tech route | What makes the IP defensible and manufacturing plan credible? |
| Deeptech Capital Partners | Research future-of-compute fit | Does the validated technology and early market proof meet the current stage? |
| InnovationQuarter | Identify the appropriate proof or scale route | What remains unproven, and which regional vehicle evaluates that milestone? |
| Peak | Hold for business-model mismatch | The core value is hardware, not incidental hardware within a SaaS/platform model. |
| Thuja | Hold without a life-sciences proposition | The example has no demonstrated healthcare-development job. |
The result is a technical-risk register, three focused research tasks and two explicit holds. Record pilot evidence as evidence and non-binding interest as non-binding interest; neither is a purchase order or investment commitment.

Methodology, research date and local guides
Research checked October 29, 2026 by the Finta Editorial Team with AI-assisted source review. We reconciled provider names from our existing city research and reviewed current official strategy, portfolio, location or founder-contact pages. Firms with multiple offices count once; angel networks count as networks, not one committed pooled fund. We distinguish local presence from investment mandate and company eligibility. We do not infer check sizes, investor returns, lead behavior or open allocation from a portfolio logo.
This national comparison uses the established Amsterdam list as a discovery seed and adds current primary research into regional, deep-tech and life-sciences capital. Official sources identify the newer strategies, office connections and public routes. The DeepTechXL redirect is recorded as website/brand continuity, not a legal opinion about entity identity. Parent platforms and multiple offices are deduplicated; non-investing programs are not counted as separate investors.
