Find impact capital that fits your European business
European impact investors fund different kinds of businesses: a UK prototype-stage technology venture, a DACH health company with early revenue, a food-system scale-up and a Scottish social enterprise may need entirely different capital. This guide compares 15 direct capital providers so you can qualify location, stage, impact theme and financing structure before you send a pitch.
Start with the kind of capital your business can use. Venture equity suits an ownership-funded growth plan; social loans require a repayment case; growth equity usually demands commercial traction. Impact means an intentional social or environmental outcome alongside financial return, not simply an ESG policy or a donation.
Coverage: Europe including the UK, Ireland, EU countries, Switzerland and other European markets where a provider's mandate explicitly allows. Türkiye and Israel appear in the separate Middle East guide. Europe-wide scope never means every investor funds every country.
Build a European shortlist by eligibility, not headquarters
- Check the actual market boundary. UK incorporation, a strong European link, DACH operations and Scotland-based impact are different requirements.
- Choose the capital structure. A loan, revenue participation, minority equity and majority growth investment change ownership and cash-flow obligations differently.
- Match evidence to stage. A prototype can support a clear impact hypothesis; a growth business should bring operating data, commercial traction and an accountable measurement plan.
- Name the right vehicle. A manager may operate several funds with different geographies. A foundation, listed-equity strategy or property fund is not automatically a company-financing opportunity.
When not to contact an investor
Do not send a generic deck just because a firm appears on an old impact list. Nesta Impact Investments states that it stopped making new seed and Series A investments from 2025, while continuing portfolio support. It is not counted here as a new-capital target. Read Nesta's current investment notice.

Equity, venture and flexible ownership capital
Ananda Impact Ventures
Ananda suits European founders whose technical breakthrough also changes an important social or environmental system. Its current criteria connect commercial ambition with impact and identify pre-seed, seed and Series A as entry stages.
Qualification check: Distinguish the average first investment from the potential lifetime allocation. Show how customer adoption increases the desired outcome rather than presenting impact as a separate charitable activity.
Ananda Impact Ventures official investment information
- Capital: Venture equity.
- Stage: Pre-seed, seed and Series A.
- Published ticket information: €0.5 million to €3 million average initial investment.
- Approach: Use the official website's founder contact route with a deck and impact hypothesis.
Norrsken VC
Norrsken VC is a useful fit for scalable technology businesses addressing major problems in energy, industry or healthcare. Its Europe-centered mandate is broader than a single Nordic market.
Qualification check: The broader Norrsken ecosystem contains independently operated funds. Approach Norrsken VC for this mandate, not an unrelated accelerator or regional fund.
Norrsken VC official investment information
- Capital: Venture equity.
- Stage: Early stage and growth.
- Published ticket information: €1 million to €10 million published early-stage and growth tickets.
- Approach: Share the company through the fund's official contact route.
Bethnal Green Ventures
BGV is a practical early-capital route for founders turning an initial technology product into a business with direct social or environmental benefit. It combines investment with a structured six-week programme.
Qualification check: It is included because the programme makes equity investments, not because acceleration alone qualifies. Check UK incorporation, right-to-work and participation requirements before applying.
Bethnal Green Ventures official investment information
- Capital: Programme-linked venture equity.
- Stage: Prototype, pre-seed and seed; follow-on support.
- Published ticket information: £60,000 published programme investment.
- Approach: Apply through the official Tech for Good programme application page.
Mustard Seed MAZE
MSM targets businesses where growth in commercial value reinforces social or environmental outcomes. European founders should make that relationship visible through their product economics and impact model.
Qualification check: Do not convert fund size or a portfolio round into an assumed initial ticket. Ask which current vehicle, entry stage and ownership requirements match your raise.
Mustard Seed MAZE official investment information
- Capital: Venture equity.
- Stage: Stage not specified in the reviewed homepage; confirm with the team.
- Published ticket information: Not publicly disclosed in the reviewed source.
- Approach: Use the official founder investment/contact route.
BONVENTURE
BONVENTURE is particularly relevant when an impact company has evidence of market demand and a credible German-speaking-market presence. It publishes a founder-facing process and a numerically measurable impact requirement.
Qualification check: An EU address alone is insufficient. Explain actual DACH operations, the revenue model and the metric that will improve as the business expands.
BONVENTURE official investment information
- Capital: Venture equity.
- Stage: Market entry with proof of concept and initial revenues; startup and growth.
- Published ticket information: €1 million to €2.5 million initial equity ticket.
- Approach: Submit a pitch deck and financial plan through the founders page.
Rubio Impact Ventures
Rubio is useful for companies whose core business directly advances social inclusion or environmental transition. Its founder criteria explain both the commercial and impact test.
Qualification check: Idea-stage ventures and businesses offering only indirect impact, such as certain consultants or transparency tools, are excluded by the published criteria. Do not treat generic ESG benefits as sufficient.
Rubio Impact Ventures official investment information
- Capital: Venture equity.
- Stage: Seed and Series A.
- Published ticket information: €0.5 million to €2.5 million published ticket range.
- Approach: Submit a deck through the funding page.
Planet A
Planet A is a fit when a founder can defend the environmental benefit of a scalable technology with data. Its fund disclosures make the investment geography and environmental objectives more concrete than a broad sustainability label.
Qualification check: Geography varies by vehicle. Israel is named for Fund I, not automatically for every subsequent fund. Confirm the current vehicle before relying on that extension.
Planet A official investment information
- Capital: Venture equity.
- Stage: Pre-seed, seed and Series A; vehicle-specific.
- Published ticket information: Not publicly disclosed in the reviewed disclosures.
- Approach: Use the official site's pitch/contact route and identify the relevant fund.
World Fund
World Fund suits European climate-tech founders who can connect their technology to a substantial emissions-reduction opportunity and a viable business. It assesses climate performance alongside execution and market considerations.
Qualification check: A positive climate story is not enough. Prepare a defensible baseline, lifecycle assumptions and deployment pathway, and separate those estimates from realized outcomes.
World Fund official investment information
- Capital: Venture equity.
- Stage: Seed through growth, including Series B.
- Published ticket information: €1 million to €15 million typical initial tickets.
- Approach: Use the official Pitch Us route.
Astanor
Astanor is a focused choice for agrifood founders rather than a general impact fund. Its seed and later-stage strategies address different company needs within the food system.
Qualification check: Do not assume the seed ticket applies to growth investments. Explain the technical milestone, economics and measurable food-system improvement appropriate to your stage.
Astanor official investment information
- Capital: Venture and growth equity.
- Stage: Pre-seed and seed, plus separate venture/growth strategies.
- Published ticket information: €1 million published seed ticket; other strategies differ.
- Approach: Approach the relevant investment team using the venture page.
Bridges Fund Management
Bridges is more relevant to an established impact business than to a founder seeking a first angel cheque. Its private-equity platform supports growth businesses with environmental or social outcomes tied to commercial opportunity.
Qualification check: Property funds, outcomes partnerships and the charitable foundation have different purposes. Identify the business-investment strategy and confirm its geography and scale requirements.
Bridges Fund Management official investment information
- Capital: Growth/private equity.
- Stage: Growth companies; strategy-specific.
- Published ticket information: Not publicly disclosed as one universal first-ticket range.
- Approach: Contact the relevant private-equity strategy rather than the foundation.
Citizen Capital
Citizen Capital connects entrepreneurship to basic needs such as health, housing, education, inclusion and the regenerative economy. It is a useful lead for a growing business serving those needs.
Qualification check: The published upper amount is not a promised cheque. The agriculture and nonprofit impact-bond strategies are not interchangeable with startup equity; qualify country and vehicle with the team.
Citizen Capital official investment information
- Capital: Growth equity and strategy-specific impact finance.
- Stage: Strong growth and development.
- Published ticket information: Up to €10 million stated investment capacity; not a minimum or standard initial ticket.
- Approach: Use the official contact route and specify startup/SME strategy.
IMPACT partners
IMPACT partners belongs on a scale-up shortlist, not an idea-stage one. Its Social Growth strategy publishes unusually clear revenue and ticket criteria for businesses reducing inequality.
Qualification check: The investor may take a minority or majority position. Consider control, acquisition plans and reporting obligations alongside the capital amount.
IMPACT partners official investment information
- Capital: Growth equity.
- Stage: Profitable growth; published annual-revenue criterion €5 million to €200 million.
- Published ticket information: €5 million to €15 million individual tickets.
- Approach: Approach the Social Growth team with revenue, expansion and impact evidence.
Phitrust Partenaires
Phitrust's unlisted strategy is relevant for entrepreneurs building inclusion into their business model. It describes patient capital and support rather than requiring every company to fit a standard venture-round label.
Qualification check: Phitrust also manages listed investments, which are not a founder financing route. Ask specifically about direct private-company eligibility and current investment capacity.
Phitrust Partenaires official investment information
- Capital: Patient private-market equity.
- Stage: Enterprise scaling; exact round stage not publicly specified.
- Published ticket information: Not publicly disclosed in the reviewed source.
- Approach: Contact the private/unlisted investment team.
Big Issue Invest
Big Issue Invest is useful when an impact organization needs repayable growth finance rather than a conventional VC round. Its lending criteria suit trading social enterprises and charities with a credible repayment plan.
Qualification check: Loans must be repaid from traded income. Smaller-loan and larger-loan geographies differ; grant elements are blended with selected loans, not an independent grant programme.
Big Issue Invest official investment information
- Capital: Debt, equity and revenue participation.
- Stage: Trading social enterprises; loan criteria include two years of trading.
- Published ticket information: £20,000 to £4 million published loan range; product-specific.
- Approach: Submit a funding enquiry through the official website.
Debt, community and catalytic financing
Social Investment Scotland
SIS is a practical route for Scotland-based organizations funding assets, expansion or working capital while delivering social benefit. It offers repayable finance built around enterprise needs.
Qualification check: Do not mistake a bridging loan for a grant or apply one product's cap to all SIS finance. Establish the repayment source and the eligible Scottish fund before approaching.
Social Investment Scotland official investment information
- Capital: Debt and blended social finance.
- Stage: Trading charities, social enterprises and community organizations.
- Published ticket information: £25,000 to £875,000 overall stated loan range; individual products differ.
- Approach: Start a funding conversation through the investment page.
Worked example: a German circular-packaging founder
This is a synthetic example, not a fundraising result. A German company has initial revenue, needs equity for manufacturing pilots and claims to reduce single-use packaging. The founder records country eligibility, intended stage, unit economics, material use per delivery and the counterfactual packaging baseline.
BONVENTURE becomes a research priority because the business has DACH activity and initial revenues. Planet A becomes another potential lead if the environmental case survives lifecycle analysis. Rubio belongs on the shortlist only if the direct-impact and seed/Series A criteria match. Big Issue Invest and SIS are removed because this company does not meet their UK or Scottish operating requirements.

How this guide was researched
Finta's editorial research reviewed official provider websites on 2026-10-01. Inclusion requires evidence of direct enterprise financing, an intentional social or environmental mandate, and investee eligibility in the region. A headquarters address, ESG policy, fund-of-funds mandate or grant program alone does not qualify.
Each profile links to the primary source used. We distinguish equity, loans and hybrid structures; preserve vehicle-specific geography; and leave stage and ticket sizes undisclosed when the source does not establish them. A live website does not prove a fund currently has deployable capital. Confirm the current vehicle, appetite and application requirements before outreach. The list is not ordered by investment quality or likelihood of funding.
Methodology and limitations
Finta reviewed official investor websites, investment criteria, fund disclosures and current investment notices on October 1, 2026. Selection requires an intentional social or environmental investment objective and a direct company or enterprise-finance route. This is an editorially selected research list, not a return ranking, a recommendation to invest, or confirmation that any provider will fund your company.
Undisclosed stages and tickets are left unknown. Check current application availability, geographic restrictions, financing terms and regulatory requirements with the provider. This guide does not offer legal, tax or individualized financial advice, and Finta has not claimed personal experience fundraising with these firms.

Turn the shortlist into a reviewed outreach plan
For each provider, record the source, eligibility status, mandate fit and one unresolved question. Then find an appropriate approach route, choose a relationship owner and prepare a relevant first conversation. Keep requested materials and follow-up visible rather than treating an investor list as an email blast.
The investor-prospecting workflow explains how to organize research and review candidates in Finta. The CRM keeps records and next steps together; Networks helps review supported relationship context. Neither a connection nor inclusion here guarantees an introduction or financing.
