A French investor shortlist should identify the right investment team, not simply the largest list of names. France's funding landscape spans first-round technology investors, scientific company builders, angel networks, public capital and growth strategies. Their evidence requirements and access routes differ.
This guide compares 16 French venture firms and startup funding routes using current official strategy and contact information. It adds a national view to our established Paris research: which firms invest across Europe, which specialize in scientific development, and which routes are not conventional venture funds.
Choose the French capital route that fits the company
- First institutional round: compare ISAI Venture, Alven and the early-stage teams at Partech, Serena and Breega using actual customer and product evidence.
- Science-led company: compare Elaia, Sofinnova Partners and 360 Capital against the technical result and next development milestone.
- Technology with proven operating traction: distinguish Partech Venture and IRIS's venture/growth teams from first-day seed capital.
- Angel syndicate: Paris Business Angels describes nationwide activity, but its individual members are not one guaranteed pooled cheque.
- Public or platform capital: identify Bpifrance's direct investment, partner-fund, aid and lending routes separately. Do not treat fund subscriptions or investor-relations pages as founder applications.
Compare 16 investor routes in France
Use provider type, stage and geographic connection together. An office address is not a promise of eligibility. Where the current source does not establish a precise entry stage, the table leaves that question open.
Selected venture firms, investment platforms and an angel network relevant to France, researched October 29, 2026. Not a performance ranking. On small screens, scroll the table sideways to see every column.

Choose a fund team before choosing a familiar brand
Partech's Seed and Venture strategies are a useful example. Seed can consider the beginning of a company, while Venture describes Series A/B mission-critical software with operating evidence. Sending an identical early idea to both teams ignores the distinction that matters.
Daphni makes a different distinction: its current site describes European generalist, worldwide retail and France-focused underrepresented-founder strategies. XAnge also presents corporate vehicles alongside its flagship. Put the exact vehicle, team and mandate on each shortlist record, even when several records share one parent manager.
Match the evidence pack to the scientific or commercial question
A laboratory result, a working product and a repeatable sales process are three different achievements. Elaia describes support from scientific company creation through later stages. Sofinnova separates healthcare and industrial biotechnology. Their scientific diligence questions should not be reduced to the metrics in a generic software deck.
For scientific work, record what was demonstrated, under which conditions, by whom and what the next experiment must resolve. For software, record the buyer, actual workflow, adoption evidence and economics. A company combining both needs both evidence chains; an AI label cannot substitute for either.
Separate a French office from the company's operating market
A Paris office can support a European or international mandate. Breega describes Europe and Africa activity; Founders Future connects Paris and San Francisco; ISAI describes a specific international route for French entrepreneurs established in the US. These are not identical geographic propositions.
Record the company's headquarters, operating team, customers and expansion plan separately. Ask which vehicle evaluates that combination. A national directory helps compare these routes; the existing Paris guide remains the local resource for the city ecosystem and meeting geography.
Do not count public backing twice
Bpifrance describes both direct startup investment and investment in partner funds. A venture firm and its public-capital backer should not automatically become two independent direct-company prospects for the same round. Identify the actual transaction and decision maker.
Likewise, an angel network, a venture fund, a company-creation platform and a growth investor serve different financing jobs. Keep provider type visible, and ask what this round needs to achieve before choosing the route. Never treat an application form as evidence of acceptance or available allocation.
Investor profiles and official routes
These profiles are a research aid, not a performance ranking. Read the current strategy and portfolio before sharing a deck. A public contact route does not establish that a firm has available allocation for your round.
Partech
Multi-strategy venture platform. Paris office; fund-specific European and international mandates. Choose the team before drafting the pitch. Partech Seed can evaluate a company from its earliest days, while the Venture team describes Series A/B companies with proven mission-critical software. Its Africa strategy is another mandate, not evidence that every Partech vehicle invests everywhere.

Eurazeo Venture
Venture strategy within a multi-asset manager. French investment platform with international connections. The current Venture page replaces the obsolete English expertise URL. Identify the Digital, Future Industries or healthcare-related team that matches the company; Eurazeo's private debt, buyout and fund-investor offerings are not interchangeable startup venture routes.
Eurazeo Venture: official investment information
Elaia
Scientific and technology investment platform. Paris-registered manager; confirm the relevant fund's geography. Elaia's current proposition spans company creation from research through later growth. Prepare the technical result, product proposition and commercial milestone together. Its contact page directs founders to the investment team rather than the press address; use the team route for a company discussion.
Elaia: official investment information · Founder investment-team instructions · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Alven
Independent early-stage venture firm. French-origin manager backing founders across Europe. Its current About page describes an independent European early-stage approach. Bring a concise explanation of the product, customer and founder insight. The firm's long operating history is context, not proof that an unrelated sector, stage or financing structure is in scope.
Alven: official investment information · Contact
Daphni
Venture platform with distinct fund mandates. Separate European, worldwide retail and France-focused mandates. The current platform describes three different strategies: a European generalist science-oriented fund, a worldwide retail fund and a France-focused fund for underrepresented founders. Match the company to the actual strategy before using the public pitch route; the broad platform description does not establish one universal mandate.
Daphni: official investment information · Official founder pitch route
Serena
Early-stage venture platform. Paris office; Europe and US companies in its stated scope. Serena separates its early-growth strategy from its pre-seed and seed pillars. A modern-data-stack or quantum company belongs in a different evidence conversation from an impact or consumer proposition. Explain the business and technical evidence before selecting a vehicle; do not treat every strategy as another independent investor.
Serena: official investment information
Breega
Operator-led venture firm. Paris and London offices; Europe and Africa activity. Its published approach supports early company building across several technical themes. Explain the specific customer problem and what the next round will prove. Regional activity and operator support do not mean that every country, sector or applicant receives the same capital or resources.
Breega: official investment information
ISAI
Entrepreneur-backed investment platform. Paris team; separate support for French founders established in the US. Use ISAI Venture for the early-stage route, not the platform's buyout or other strategies. Its current page distinguishes first institutional rounds from an international seed/post-seed route alongside local investors for French entrepreneurs already in the US. State the company's actual operating setup before assuming a transatlantic fit.
ISAI: official investment information
XAnge
European venture manager. Paris, Berlin and Brussels offices; European technology focus. The current flagship thesis separates AI applications and middleware, engineering-led frontier technology, and sustainability. Explain which mechanism the company improves and the evidence supporting it. Corporate vehicles such as La Poste Ventures have additional strategic boundaries and are not duplicate generalist funds.
XAnge: official investment information · Official founder pitch route
Founders Future
Transatlantic venture and growth platform. Paris and San Francisco platform. Its current proposition connects European and US company building and places AI within concrete operating problems. Show how the product changes a workflow or technical capability rather than adding an AI label to the pitch. Distinguish a founder deck submission from subscriptions to its investment products.
Founders Future: official investment information · Official contact and founder route · Additional official strategy or location evidence
IRIS
Venture and growth investment firm. Paris, Berlin and Munich offices. IRIS's current website separates venture and growth. A founder should state both the product evidence and the operating maturity needed for the next step. Its published project-submission route is distinct from investor relations; confirm that route is available before sending confidential materials.
IRIS: official investment information · Official investment website and project route
CapHorn
Venture investment manager. Paris-based management company. The current site describes building, energy, transport and agriculture within climate, medical devices and digital health within healthcare, and enterprise transformation. Identify the relevant operating problem and evidence, rather than treating all three themes as interchangeable generalist software investing.
CapHorn: official investment information
Paris Business Angels
Angel investor network. Published nationwide coverage across France. Despite its name, the current network describes national coverage. Use the entrepreneur project route, not the member-joining route. Count the network once and do not present its member count as committed investors in an applicant's round or promise the advertised process will produce a financing decision on a fixed schedule.
Paris Business Angels: official investment information
Bpifrance
Public investment and financing platform. National French startup-financing ecosystem. Bpifrance explains both direct company investment and support through partner funds. These are different access paths. A partner fund receiving capital from Bpifrance does not make that fund's portfolio company a direct Bpifrance investment, and an innovation-aid or loan route is not automatically an equity round.
Bpifrance: official investment information · Official platform; identify the relevant financing team
Sofinnova Partners
Life-sciences investment platform. Paris, Milan and London offices; specialist international strategies. Start with the scientific and development-stage fit. The platform includes healthcare and industrial-biotechnology strategies, which require different evidence. A general enterprise-software pitch is not equivalent to a drug, medical-technology or biological-production program; select the relevant specialist team before submitting a project.
Sofinnova Partners: official investment information · Official entrepreneur contact route · Additional official strategy or location evidence
360 Capital
European technology venture firm. Paris and Milan investment teams; European focus. The current platform combines early-stage technology investing with substantial deep-tech and climate expertise. Show the technical advantage, customer use and path to implementation. Its published founder pitch route is different from investor access, and investment history is not a claim of available allocation for this round.

A worked shortlist for a French industrial-AI startup
Illustrative exercise, not a funding recommendation. A French engineering team has a working industrial inspection prototype and an unpaid pilot. It needs capital to validate performance with customers. It has not established repeatable software revenue or a therapeutic-drug program.
Turn five directory names into a research decision
| Route | Initial decision | Evidence or question |
|---|---|---|
| 360 Capital | Research the early deep-tech/digital fit | Which technical result and commercial milestone justify the next round? |
| Elaia | Research the scientific-technology route | How defensible is the technology, and what remains unproven? |
| Serena | Identify the relevant early-stage strategy | Is the core proposition data infrastructure, applied AI or another pillar? |
| Partech Venture | Hold the specific venture-stage route | The example lacks the proven software operating case described for that team; review Seed separately. |
| Sofinnova healthcare | Hold without a scientific healthcare fit | An industrial inspection product is not a therapeutic-development program. |
The output is a technical evidence pack, three focused research tasks and two explicit holds. It is not a bulk-outreach list or a claim that any firm will invest.

Methodology, research date and local guides
Research checked October 29, 2026 by the Finta Editorial Team with AI-assisted source review. We reconciled provider names from our existing city research and reviewed current official strategy, portfolio, location or founder-contact pages. Firms with multiple offices count once; angel networks count as networks, not one committed pooled fund. We distinguish local presence from investment mandate and company eligibility. We do not infer check sizes, investor returns, lead behavior or open allocation from a portfolio logo.
This national comparison reuses the established Paris research as a discovery seed, then checks current primary strategy, contact and manager-identity pages. Sofinnova Partners and 360 Capital add specialist routes from the campaign's official-source inventory. The current Eurazeo Venture page replaces an obsolete URL. Parent managers count once even when several strategies are discussed.
Informational purposes only. Finta is not a law firm or accounting firm. This is general fundraising information, not personalized financial, legal or tax advice. Discuss financing documents, company structures and tax consequences with your attorney or accountant.
This is a selected research directory, not an exhaustive register or sponsored ranking. Confirm the current vehicle, team and process directly before relying on a fit decision.
Make the next fundraising step specific
Choose a small set of defensible matches, record the open question, and assign the next action. Use our investor-shortlist guide and warm-introduction guide to prepare the conversation. A longer list should make the research better, not turn into an indiscriminate mailing list.
