Choose European venture capital firms by the fund's actual geographic remit, entry stage and technical or commercial thesis. A firm with offices in several countries, a Nordic specialist and a Swiss first-round investor can all appear in European research while serving different companies.
This guide compares 41 selected investors and investment platforms. It is designed for founders deciding where to research across markets, not for ranking firms by returns or collecting every office into a larger mailing list. Europe is a geographic comparison here, not a claim that the EU, EEA, UK and Switzerland have identical financing rules.
Build a European mandate map before a long list
- Start with a company connection. Record team, operations, customers and the market being built, separately from the manager's office.
- Choose the geographic layer. Compare pan-European, subregional, country-linked and global strategies without flattening them into one mandate.
- Match the entry milestone. First company financing, late-seed commercial proof and growth expansion require different cases.
- Identify the unit that invests. Deduplicate the manager but preserve distinct fund, arm and instrument criteria.
Compare 41 European investor routes
Use provider type, stage and geographic connection together. An office address is not a promise of eligibility. Where the current source does not establish a precise entry stage, the table leaves that question open.
Selected Europe-linked investors and investment platforms, researched October 29, 2026. Connections and mandates differ; inclusion does not mean every European company qualifies. On small screens, scroll the table sideways to see every column.

An office map and an investment-mandate map answer different questions
London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and Stockholm can be useful team-access points. They do not establish which companies a vehicle can back. Founderful's first-financing proposition is explicitly Swiss, while Karma describes European deep-tech software companies and Practica focuses on the Baltics. Those distinctions affect the shortlist before outreach begins.
Keep three geographic facts separate
| Fact | What to record | What not to infer |
|---|---|---|
| Manager presence | Official office and relevant partner/team | That every local startup qualifies |
| Investment mandate | Current country, regional or global remit | That all vehicles share it |
| Company connection | Actual founder, operating and market facts | That changing an address resolves eligibility |
Use subregions when they change the answer
Several investors explicitly organize their work around the Nordics or Baltics. Inventure focuses primarily on those markets, Voima names scientific deep tech across them, and Practica is Baltic-focused. Iron Wolf describes a different Baltic Sea, Ukraine and diaspora remit. These are overlapping maps, not interchangeable labels.
The practical move is to compare a small set of documented mandates before adding more countries. Keep a broader European candidate only when its strategy and company connection are supported. Where the current page leaves a country or stage question open, record it as a question, not an assumed match.
A research milestone is not the same as a software round label
Amadeus, Vsquared, Elaia, Innovation Industries and Voima each provide routes into technical company building, with different strategies and geographic connections. Forbion, Sofinnova, Seroba and Ysios require specialist scientific or development-stage analysis. A Series A label alone cannot make these comparisons.
Separate what has been demonstrated in a lab, built into a product, validated with a user and repeated commercially. For a therapeutic company, development evidence is different from a software sales pipeline. For a manufacturing technology, reliability and scale-up constraints can matter alongside market demand. Prepare the milestone before selecting the fund.
Route by the operating problem, not the longest set of tags
Notion, Dawn and Nauta offer distinct business-software lenses. SET focuses on energy systems, while World Fund and Norrsken bring climate or broader problem-solving theses. The same company may intersect these themes, but the proof pack should change with the investor question.
- Business software: buyer, workflow, product use and commercial model.
- Energy or climate: operating mechanism, measurable outcome and adoption constraints.
- Deep tech: technical advantage, remaining validation and scale-up path.
- Life sciences: scientific proposition and development milestone relevant to the actual strategy.
Cross-border support has a direction and a specific vehicle
Frontline Seed's Europe-to-US job differs from Frontline Growth's US-to-Europe job. Atlantic Bridge's main growth strategy differs from research-commercialization vehicles. Partech's investment teams, PSV's units and EQT's broader group activities should not be collapsed into one universal funding offer.
Count one manager once, then preserve the vehicle, team and direction in your working records. This avoids inflated lists without hiding the choices that determine whether a conversation is useful. No platform description guarantees an introduction, allocation or investment.
Investor profiles and official routes
These profiles are a research aid, not a performance ranking. Read the current strategy and portfolio before sharing a deck. A public contact route does not establish that a firm has available allocation for your round.
Index Ventures
Multi-stage venture firm. London within an international investment platform. Treat London as one office within an international platform. Establish the relevant fund, partner and entry round before comparing it with a country-bounded investor. A global portfolio does not remove the need to explain the first customer market.
Index Ventures: official investment information · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Seedcamp
Early-stage venture platform. European founder ecosystem with a UK base. Research the first-company funding proposition separately from later rounds in the portfolio. For a European team, state the product insight and current proof before asking how the platform supports international company building.
Seedcamp: official investment information · Contact Us
Dawn Capital
B2B technology venture firm. London office; international technology portfolio. Use the B2B software and infrastructure remit to test the buyer and workflow fit. Confirm the current entry round rather than transferring a portfolio company's later financing stage to a new applicant.
Dawn Capital: official investment information
Notion Capital
Business-software venture investor. European focus; UK operating base. The European business-software focus is more specific than a general technology investor label. Explain the recurring business problem and commercial model. The investor is distinct from the similarly named productivity application.
Notion Capital: official investment information · Get in touch
Amadeus Capital Partners
Deep-tech venture firm. Offices in London, Cambridge and Oxford. Compare the current Intelligence, Human and Planet themes against the actual technology and validation task. UK offices are an operating connection, not evidence that a scientific company has met the relevant investment criteria.
Amadeus Capital Partners: official investment information · Published proposal route · Additional official strategy or location evidence
High-Tech Gründerfonds
Multi-stage venture platform. German and European technology; Bonn, Berlin and Munich offices. The current platform describes pre-seed through growth technology investment. Identify the appropriate stage and strategy, then verify the company's specific geographic and technical fit rather than treating it as one unchanged seed-only proposition.
High-Tech Gründerfonds: official investment information · My pitch
UVC Partners
Technology venture investor. Munich ecosystem and wider European company activity. Bring the industrial or frontier-technology proof and its commercialization implications. Confirm the current entry criteria with the team. Munich ecosystem access is a different fact from a mandate to fund every company elsewhere in Europe.
UVC Partners: official investment information · Contact us · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Vsquared Ventures
Deep-technology venture firm. Munich and London offices. Use the early deep-tech proposition to evaluate a genuine scientific or engineering barrier. Explain the route from technical validation to a usable product rather than presenting an ordinary software feature as a breakthrough.
Vsquared Ventures: official investment information
Point Nine
Thesis-driven venture firm. European base; global investment scope. Read the current AI thesis across digital, physical and biological applications, not only older SaaS shorthand. Separate the firm's European base from its global investment scope and identify the appropriate team.
Point Nine: official investment information · Additional official strategy or location evidence
World Fund
Climate-technology venture firm. European climate technology; German registered manager. A European climate-technology case needs both a commercial mechanism and a credible decarbonization pathway. Confirm the current entry round and evidence expectations. A general sustainability claim is not an investment thesis match.
World Fund: official investment information · Pitch us · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Speedinvest
Sector-specialist venture platform. Teams across Europe with a Berlin office. Start with the sector team and current financing route within the European platform. Infrastructure, health, fintech and industrial businesses need different proof packs. Do not assume all fund vehicles share an identical country or stage remit.
Speedinvest: official investment information · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Partech
Multi-strategy venture platform. Paris office; fund-specific European and international mandates. Select Seed, Venture, Growth or another specific strategy before making a geographic comparison. Its European and international teams do not imply that every vehicle invests in every country or at every stage.
Partech: official investment information · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Elaia
Scientific and technology investment platform. Paris-registered manager; confirm the relevant fund's geography. Match scientific and technological innovation to the appropriate creation, venture or later-stage strategy. Specify the development risk and commercialization milestone, then confirm the fund's country remit rather than inferring it from a Paris address.
Elaia: official investment information · Founder investment-team instructions · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Sofinnova Partners
Life-sciences investment platform. Paris, Milan and London offices; specialist international strategies. Choose the healthcare or industrial-biotechnology team and the development-stage route. A continental investor comparison should distinguish therapeutic, medical and bio-production evidence instead of grouping all health-related companies together.
Sofinnova Partners: official investment information · Official entrepreneur contact route · Additional official strategy or location evidence
SET Ventures
Energy-technology venture investor. Amsterdam and Hamburg offices; European energy focus. The European energy-system focus requires a clear operating role for the product. Explain what changes in production, optimization, trading or use. Digital energy businesses and standalone infrastructure projects are not automatically the same financing proposition.
SET Ventures: official investment information · Official pitch-deck route
Innovation Industries
European deep-tech venture investor. Amsterdam, Eindhoven and Munich offices; European focus. Prepare defensible technology, development risk and industrial scale requirements together. Confirm the specific early or growth strategy. Multiple offices and fund brands should not be counted as multiple independent investors.
Innovation Industries: official investment information · Official investment-team contact · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Forbion
Biotechnology investment platform. Naarden office; international specialist strategies. Separate formation, pre-clinical/early clinical venture, clinical growth and BioEconomy strategies. Compare the actual science and development milestone, not only the company's country. Human-health biotechnology and industrial biology have different investment cases.
Forbion: official investment information · Official investment-team contact · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Founderful
Venture capital firm. Swiss venture firm with a Zurich office. Its Swiss first-financing role is a useful contrast to a pan-European generalist. Establish the actual Swiss founder/company connection before treating the firm as an option for a team elsewhere. Campus activities are not another fund to count.
Founderful: official investment information
Redalpine
Multi-stage venture investment adviser. Swiss roots; pan-European approach. Use the software-and-science proposition and pan-European approach, then identify the advised vehicle and current stage. A Swiss operating connection is distinct from the broader investment remit.
Redalpine: official investment information · contact
Verve Ventures
Deep-tech investment platform. Swiss-operated platform focused on European deep tech. Compare the European deep-tech topics in energy/resources, computing and health/bio. Use the investment-team route; investor onboarding is not automatically a founder pitch. Verify the specific vehicle instead of assuming platform-wide eligibility.
Verve Ventures: official investment information · Current investment topics and team · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Frontline Ventures
Transatlantic B2B technology investor. Dublin office; European startups expanding toward the US. Direction matters: Frontline Seed supports early European B2B companies looking toward the US, while its separate Growth strategy addresses US companies expanding into Europe. Do not collapse both into one transatlantic eligibility claim.
Frontline Ventures: official investment information · Contact Us
Atlantic Bridge
Cross-border technology investment platform. Dublin office; Europe, UK and US operating network. Separate the main cross-border growth-equity strategy from early research-commercialization vehicles. Describe the technical advantage and the market-entry or scale task, then confirm the actual fund and team.
Atlantic Bridge: official investment information · Contact
Seroba
European life-science venture firm. Dublin office; European life-science strategy. Its European life-science remit is relevant to biotech and medical technology, not every wellness or hospital-software company. Prepare the scientific result, remaining development risk and commercialization route.
Seroba: official investment information · Contact · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Nauta Capital
B2B software venture firm. European companies; Barcelona and London offices. The European B2B software route calls for an operating product, even when revenue is still early. Show what customers can use and what the company has learned. Confirm the specific pre-seed, seed or Series A fit.
Nauta Capital: official investment information · Official founder pitch page · Additional official strategy or location evidence
Ysios Capital
Biotechnology venture firm. Barcelona and San Sebastian offices; global biotech investing. Treat this as a specialist therapeutic-drug route with international reach, not a generic Spanish or European startup fund. Establish the actual drug-development and unmet-need fit before preparing a diligence package.
Ysios Capital: official investment information · Contact us
Kibo Ventures
Venture investment platform; separate PE strategy. European founder and technology mandate. Use the current venture strategy for a pre-Series A or Series A technology case. The separate private-equity business is not another early-stage fund. Connect B2B, AI, cyber or deep-tech evidence to a specific European company-building plan.
Kibo Ventures: official investment information
Creandum
Technology venture firm. Stockholm, London, Berlin and San Francisco team presence. Use the current founder and product philosophy to prepare the company case. Multiple offices do not establish unrestricted eligibility. Compare the partner, investment strategy and first market, not a portfolio company's later valuation.
Creandum: official investment information · Contact
EQT Ventures
European venture fund. European company focus; advisers in Europe and the US. Distinguish EQT Ventures from the wider group's buyout, growth and other strategies. Its current page identifies an early-stage venture role, not a universal entry point to every EQT product. Show the relevant team, product and market evidence.
EQT Ventures: official investment information
Northzone
International venture firm. Offices across Europe and New York; cross-border company building. Northzone explicitly frames company building across customer, talent and capital geographies. Prepare the specific operating plan and current entry-round question. International reach is not evidence that every fund can invest in every company structure.
Northzone: official investment information
Norrsken VC
Impact-oriented technology venture firm. Europe and beyond; Stockholm base. Compare the commercial mechanism and the problem solved. The VC is part of a broader ecosystem, whose activities are not separate guaranteed funding routes. Demonstrate impact through the business model rather than using impact as a label.
Norrsken VC: official investment information
Inventure
Generalist venture firm. Primarily the Nordics and Baltics; Helsinki, Stockholm and London offices. The published regional focus is more useful than a general Europe tag. Record the company's actual Nordic or Baltic connection, then clarify the current stage and team. International portfolio examples do not make the remit universal.
Inventure: official investment information · Contact
Maki.vc
Early technical-company venture firm. Nordic founders with global ambitions; Helsinki base. Use the first-round proposition to connect technical insight with the initial market. A portfolio company now at Series A or beyond is not proof that the same stage applies to a new investment. Confirm the specific country connection.
Maki.vc: official investment information
Voima Ventures
Scientific deep-tech venture firm. Explicit Nordic and Baltic remit; Helsinki and Stockholm offices. A scientific foundation and international problem are central to the published approach. Build the technical, product and commercial evidence separately. A university connection alone is not a financing decision or proof of the fund's eligibility criteria.
Voima Ventures: official investment information · Get in touch
byFounders
Community-powered technology venture firm. New Nordics founder ecosystem. Start with the actual regional connection and founding-team insight. The collective's members and operators are not separate committed cheques. Published process and support descriptions should not become promised timelines or introductions in a founder's plan.
byFounders: official investment information
PSV
Venture house with distinct investment units. Danish/DTU roots; Nordic strategies vary by unit. PSV Foundry, PSV Tech and PSV Hafnium have different mandates. Keep one parent-level record, then identify the applicable unit. DTU's ecosystem role and Nordic venture investment should not be treated as the same company-eligibility rule.
PSV: official investment information · contact
Antler Nordics
Early-stage venture platform. Nordic hubs in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen and Helsinki. The former Norway route now presents a Nordic proposition. Choose the current local process and compare it with the company's founding stage. Perks, desk space, a program and an equity commitment are distinct, and investment is not automatic on participation.
Antler Nordics: official investment information · Pitch Us
Nysnø Climate Investments
State-owned climate investment company. Norwegian offices and public investment framework; confirm company fit. Separate a company's direct-investment enquiry from a fund-manager relationship. Prepare the climate mechanism and commercial case. Norwegian presence and a climate theme do not by themselves settle the current investment framework or company criteria.
Nysnø Climate Investments: official investment information · Contact
Practica Capital
Baltic venture investor. Baltic investment focus; Vilnius office. The regional scope is an explicit fit filter, not simply the location of the manager. Identify the relevant Baltic company connection and stage. Later portfolio milestones do not establish a new cheque or follow-on entitlement.
Practica Capital: official investment information · Contact
Iron Wolf Capital
Deep-tech and defense venture firm. Baltic Sea region, Ukraine and diaspora; team across regional hubs. Use the documented geographic and technical remit. Explain the actual use case and development proof without assuming that a wider European address qualifies. A defense label is not a substitute for product, customer or compliance evidence.
Iron Wolf Capital: official investment information · Pitch Us
Tera Ventures
Seed-stage technology venture firm. Most portfolio teams have strong Estonian ties; internationally diverse teams. The current site describes seed investment and a meaningful Estonian company connection, while showing international teams and markets. Clarify that connection directly. A company elsewhere in Europe should not infer eligibility from one portfolio example.
Tera Ventures: official investment information · CONTACT
Karma Ventures
Deep-tech software venture firm. European companies targeting global markets; Tallinn base. This is a more specific readiness test than a broad deep-tech tag. Prepare the underlying software innovation and early commercial evidence. A lab result without a software business or customer traction is not automatically the same proposition.

A worked mandate map for a European industrial-software team
Illustrative exercise, not an investment recommendation. A Finnish team sells software that coordinates energy use in factories. It has paying pilot customers in Finland and one German deployment. The next financing would validate repeatable installation and commercial economics, not fund expansion to every European country at once.
Compare the question each route needs answered
| Route | Why research it | What remains open |
|---|---|---|
| Inventure or Maki | Investigate the Nordic founder and early-company connection | Current entry round, technical remit and team fit |
| SET Ventures | Test the energy-system operating thesis | Product economics and role in the customer's energy decisions |
| Nauta or Notion | Test the business-software proposition | Repeatable use, buyer and implementation model |
| World Fund | Research the decarbonization case | Measurement basis and current stage criteria |
| Founderful | Hold absent a genuine Swiss connection | Do not invent a match merely because Switzerland is in Europe |
The output is a small research queue with evidence and unanswered questions, not a claim that the fictional company qualifies or any firm has reviewed it.

Methodology, research date and local guides
Research checked October 29, 2026 by the Finta Editorial Team with AI-assisted source review. We reconciled provider names from our existing city research and reviewed current official strategy, portfolio, location or founder-contact pages. Firms with multiple offices count once; angel networks count as networks, not one committed pooled fund. We distinguish local presence from investment mandate and company eligibility. We do not infer check sizes, investor returns, lead behavior or open allocation from a portfolio logo.
This selected continental comparison reuses provider-level evidence from our city and national research, then adds a mandate map and cross-market worked example. It does not concatenate local articles or imply that one office creates eligibility throughout Europe. The directory includes broad international platforms, specialist regional funds and a small number of country-linked contrasts so founders can see where the boundaries differ.
Provider facts are deduplicated at manager level while separate strategies remain visible. Scientific, product and commercial readiness are compared without assigning a funding probability. This is not exhaustive coverage of every European market or investor.
Informational purposes only. Finta is not a law firm or accounting firm. This is general fundraising information, not personalized financial, legal or tax advice. Ask your attorney or accountant about company structures, financing instruments, cross-border requirements and tax consequences.
This is a selected research directory, not an exhaustive register or sponsored ranking. Confirm the current vehicle, team and process directly before relying on a fit decision.
