Consider Finta as a Draftboard alternative when you need the fundraising process around an introduction, not just a new way to discover the path. Keep Draftboard on your shortlist when team-network mapping, connector rationale and intro coordination are the immediate job. Test what happens after a promising path appears before deciding to replace anything.
This comparison is about Draftboard's current warm-introduction product, not fantasy draft tools or an assumption based only on older recruiting coverage. Finta reviewed first-party materials on October 20, 2026. We have not performed an independent hands-on test.
What Draftboard already helps coordinate
Draftboard describes target-list path discovery, explanations of predicted relationship strength and prepared introduction requests. Its current site also shows a pipeline surface. It should not be presented as a static spreadsheet with no follow-through.
The Teams page describes pooled member networks, shared or private targets and requests through colleagues. Members can scan through its extension; read-only members are also described. It says useful path context is shared without handing teammates a browsable contact export. Confirm the actual role and visibility settings your team needs.
Where the fundraising working record matters
A successful introduction creates another operating job. Someone must own the reply, record the investor's fit, prepare the right material and decide the next step. Finta CRM is worth evaluating when you want that continuing context in its relationship record.
Aurora can prepare work from available authorized sources. Results depend on connections, tools, permissions and credits; they can be incomplete. This is not a claim that Draftboard cannot support a pipeline or that Finta automatically imports every route found elsewhere.
| Your immediate need | Why keep Draftboard in the evaluation | Why evaluate Finta |
|---|---|---|
| Find a credible connector | Inspect its path explanations and team-network workflow. | Inspect the available relationship evidence and your intended CRM handoff. |
| Prepare an intro ask | Review request drafting and routing through the relevant teammate. | Review the request in the context of the relationship and raise. |
| Prepare for the investor conversation | Test how the selected workflow preserves the context you need. | Test the working record and preparation from authorized sources. |
| Move systems | Confirm what you can export and preserve. | Validate a small authorized import and reconciliation before switching. |
Do not count a quality path as a completed intro
A provider-defined quality path is useful research, not an assurance that the connector agrees to help. Draftboard's terms describe predicted relationship strength. Keep prediction, permission, actual introduction and accepted meeting as different states.
Budgeting has the same distinction. Its advertised pricing charges $0.30 for a quality path, with an initial allowance of 50 and a three-credit cap per target. On teams, the cap is per teammate, not company-wide. Recheck current terms and allowances; this is not a cost-per-meeting comparison or a claim that Finta is cheaper.
Worked example: the intro happened, but the handoff did not
Illustrative case, not a customer outcome. Lina is raising a round with help from her cofounder Sam. Sam agrees to introduce her to an investor. The message is sent, but the team marks the target “in meeting” before the investor replies. A week later, nobody knows which round summary was shared or who should follow up.
| Checkpoint | Evidence in this example | Correct record | Next owner |
|---|---|---|---|
| Connector found | Sam's relevant connection is identified. | Path under review. | Lina verifies fit. |
| Permission received | Sam agrees to this introduction. | Approved intro request. | Lina provides the approved blurb. |
| Intro sent | Sam sends the actual message. | Introduction sent, no reply yet. | Lina monitors and records the response. |
| Meeting arranged | No accepted invitation exists. | Not complete. | Lina follows the agreed next step, without duplicate requests. |
Neither a high path score nor an intro message proves a meeting occurred. In a comparison, inspect whether the proposed setup keeps those states, the approved material and the next owner clear. The test is the completed handoff, not which interface looks busier.
Copy this connector-to-meeting acceptance checklist
Run the checklist with one authorized target. Retain only the minimum personal data needed for the test, and do not send an external message merely to finish a software demonstration.
| Acceptance check | Your entry | Pass condition |
|---|---|---|
| Target qualification | [Investor / round fit / current source] | A reviewed reason to contact this person. |
| Connector evidence | [Person / basis / last confirmed date] | Observed evidence is separate from inference. |
| Permission to ask | [Scope / approver / date] | Consent is explicit for this request. |
| Approved material | [Blurb / version / sharing boundary] | No confidential material added by assumption. |
| Action state | [Prepared / requested / sent / replied / booked] | A receipt supports each completed state. |
| Follow-through | [Owner / date / operating record] | Someone can find and complete the next action. |
| Portability test | [Authorized sample / fields / gaps] | Required history and permissions survive reconciliation. |
Test the calendar and AI prerequisites, not just the demo
Draftboard's Network Copilot uses Google Calendar to surface intro opportunities around external meetings, with documented meeting filtering. Its MCP page makes another prerequisite explicit: the account's network needs to have been scanned before useful answers can appear. Authorization alone does not create a populated network.
Finta's network documentation similarly defines source boundaries, including explicit LinkedIn imports rather than live synchronization. Test the source and update cycle your team actually relies on. Do not assume an assistant's availability proves identical tools, permissions or data coverage across products.
Review visibility before pooling a team
Check who can see private targets, path context and colleagues' information. The privacy policy describes admin-controlled visibility and service-provider processing. Read the proposed settings and agreement with your own security reviewer; a page headline is not a completed security review.
For a move to Finta, first export a small sample only where you have authority and the current product permits it. Review required fields, missing context and visibility before import. There is no native Draftboard-to-Finta migration or integration promise in this article.
Choose the process your team will maintain
Keep Draftboard if the path and team-introduction workflow meets the job and its usage model fits. Evaluate Finta if the continuing fundraising record is what needs a new operating home. If using both, name one owner for every request and update, so a connector never receives duplicate asks because the tools disagree.
For the human handoff, use the investor-email preparation guide and the meeting-follow-up lesson. Better software does not remove the need for permission, accurate material and accountable follow-through.
Method and limits: This is a vendor-authored comparison based on first-party sources checked October 20, 2026. We did not run a live scan, pay for paths, send an introduction or verify conversion claims. Features and terms change. Ask your attorney about privacy, confidentiality and contracts, and your accountant about accounting or tax matters. Finta is not your law firm or accounting adviser.
